A very special and dear friend of mine brought them to me from Spain about 10 years ago. Ever since I tried them, I loved them and wanted to have them in my shop. The original one is made with milk chocolate and heavy cream, but I was able to create a vegan version that I found even tastier than the non-vegan one. These are simply made with almonds, sugar, and coconut milk, with one side covered in dark chocolate. They are perfect snack to have with a cup of tea or coffee.

Born in the Rialto bakery in Oviedo under the shadow of the cathedral, Moscovitas have a mysterious origin. Legend has it that a boy returning from the Soviet Union after the civil war brought the recipe to Asturias in his luggage. These almond and chocolate cookies have since become an emblem of the Asturian capital’s cuisine, cherished by sweet lovers for their intense and predominant flavors.
